Pimavanserin AND Emotional pRocessing

Key Info

We are looking for healthy participants aged 18-45 for a compensated study investigating the effects of a single dose of an American licensed drug, called pimavanserin, on emotional processing, memory and decision-making. This may help develop new treatments for depression in the future.

Location

Warneford Hospital, OX3 7JX

Group

Healthy Volunteers aged 18-45

Ethics Reference

CUREC: R95550/RE001

What does this involve?

A 30-45 minute phone call with a researcher assessing your eligibility. This will involve questions about your medical history and a psychiatric assessment. A 5-hour in-person research visit involving some physical health checks (e.g. blood pressure, a pregnancy test, if applicable), drug administration, a 1-hour break followed some computerised tasks and questionnaires.

Who are we looking for?

Healthy volunteers, aged 18-45, with no history of psychological or psychiatric conditions. Please note: We will be unable to include you if you have taken part in any other drug studies in the past 3 months, including if you are currently enrolling in one. We will also be unable to include you if you have ever received gender-affirming treatments or taken part in any other PERL studies in the past 12 months, including if you are currently enrolling in one.
