Pramipexole Research on Impacts on Motivational Drive

We are looking for people aged 18-45 both with and without symptoms of low motivation to take part in a study investigating the effects of a licensed drug on the brain.

What does this involve?
In this study, we will use a series of psychological tests to explore how pramipexole, a drug that affects the chemical dopamine in the brain, affects behaviour, especially when it comes to motivation. As part of the study, you will receive either pramipexole (an antidepressant drug) or a placebo (a dummy treatment). Before and 12 to 15 days after the treatment, you will be invited to complete a series of questionnaires and psychological tasks.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for individuals aged 18-45 years old, with or without current symptoms of apathy (loss of motivation). Please note: We will be unable to include you if you have taken part in any other drug studies in the past 3 months, including if you are currently enrolling in one. We will also be unable to include you if you have taken part in any other PERL studies in the past 6 months, including if you are currently enrolling in one.
